Located near Houston’s museum district, from top to bottom, The Pit Room is everything BBQ if you know what I mean. The rustic sitting area outside has somewhat of a sports bar feel that makes this establishment feel very welcoming. The workers are very friendly and are willing and able to help you make a decision if asked. My friend is not fond of cheese but that didn’t deter them at all! They kindly made the taco as she requested with little to no questions asked.
They offer a variety of tacos on either corn or flour tortillas with their brisket tacos being the public’s favorite. Along with tacos, they offer sides such as their very creamy mac – n – cheese, potato salad and cole slaw. Their condiment area has an array of sauces and toppings with the spicy mustard being my favorite. The mustard adds a sweet and spicy kick to the already delicious taco. But if you’re looking for a little bit more flavor, the Habanero mustard is the next best option. But be careful, this sauce is not to be played with!
The restaurant itself was fairly quiet being that we stopped by on a Thursday. It’s very casual and kid friendly with a lot of open space for strollers. If you’re in the museum district and looking for a quick bite to eat, The Pit Room is a must. Come alone and sit outside on a rare breezy day lol or bring some friends and sit in one of their adorably built booths!
